Randy Morgenson loved the outdoors. Raised in the picturesque Yosemite Valley, Morgenson spent his youth hiking the hills and trails with his father who taught him about the flora and fauna, the importance of treading lightly upon the land, and love of the natural world. Morgenson grew up and went to college only to quit in his third year to follow his heart and do what he thought was natural. He became a backcountry ranger. He spent the next 28 seasons in the beautiful yet unforgiving Sierra Nevada Mountains until one day he just simply disappeared. What followed was to be one of the most intensive search and rescue operations in the history of the National Park Service. Part nature, part biography and part mystery, Eric Blehm’s Last Season pursues and brings substance to a man’s life in the absence of a body, but very much in the presence of his spirit.
